RESNET training – An entry to the greener world
RESNET training is best suited for people who look into settling in the green collar jobs and make them a RESNET Rater certified professional. The training is mandatory before taking the examination and the training should be completed through an Approved Contractor Education and Qualification (CEQ) provider. Though there are many providers who give the training, all of them have a similar course structure.
The class room topics in the RESNET training includes, introduction to RESNET, ratings, mortgages and Energy Star, introduction to Building Star, REM / Rate software, rating process and maintaining certification, quality assurance and ethics. The field topics include blower door test, duct leakage test, building envelope examination, mechanical systems evaluation, pressure testing and data collection.
Through the RESNET training one learns the benefits of home energy rating and learns how to communicate the same to customers, learns how to explain the basics of energy efficient mortgages, Energy Star Home program and other products to the customer, to perform infield inspections and diagnostics to produce a home energy rating which also includes duct leakage testing and blower door leakage testing, operating and producing reports using rating software and the list the goals
The training is for five days which include both the class room and on field sessions which is mandatory before giving the exam. After registering with RESNET, the examination should be given within 90 days, and if not cleared, a re examination can also be given.
